Cuteness

Remember this hat? I'm happy to report that it's still in the dress-up rotation around here. I also love that Lara now poses for the camera like a pro. It's actually sort of amazing - she is just all girl. Stereotypical, pink-loving, mirror-gazing, jewelry-fancying, makeup-curious girl. Where does it come from? Definitely not from me - I don't think, anyway. I am certainly very conscious of the aesthetics of my environment, and highly interested in design, but not in particularly gender-specific way. I am comforted by the thought that taste is an evolving concept...

I think she got it from my daughter, who must have manufactured it out of thin air. And yes, evolving. I cling to that.

Very cute, of course.

Dress-up clothes are the very best "toys" to have entered our house full of girly-girls. And I originally could never imagine myself with girls - I wanted lego-playing, soccer-playing boys. 'Twas not to be.
