Voila - a new quilt is half-done, now that the top is assembled. It's all flannels, and I'm going to do a design something similar, but in different colors, for the back. I've discovered that I like having the ability to flip the thing over and change the decor of the room - and also that there's not really any reason to have a quilt back just be one solid color or pattern (or is there? Is there some secret reason for the fact that that's how most of them are made?).
I'm doubly excited for this one, because I'm going to use it to cover our existing drab-gray hideous comforter. Yay bed!

the only reason people ususally pick plain backs is to keep the quilting lines aligned. When you quilt the front, your lines will not necessarily fall where you want them on the back fabrics, unless you spend a lot of time drafting it so it does!
That makes sense. I'd never thought of that, but with a geometric quilt like this, maybe it won't really matter. I love the modern look of this, and flannel! Who doesn't love the comforting touch of flannel?
So lovely!! The only thought re: the quilt back would be shrinkage after washing. One large piece might lend continuity if the flannel possibly wasn't pre-washed. Please pardon the comment if you pre-washed---unlike me! I used to skip that step 'til I converted. Your quilt top looks so new and crisp for pre-washed flannel. (BTW, You've really been on a roll with your posts! I like your recent pace- thanks so much!). Happy quilting, whatever you decide!
It can be necessary in so many ways which is really one of the great and also perhaps in so many ways which can be include.
I like your idea it is totally unique and very different from the others. But the yellow colour is not suitable in it.
