The Bag That the Cat Was In

A boring, unworn, and relatively unflattering grey sweater is now a bit more fun with some lace trim!

The blue fabric is just regular quilting cotton, cut into two-inch strips and fed through a bias tape maker. The lace is salvaged from a somewhat odd organizer meant to hang on a hanger (what tiny objects do you put into a closet into lace pockets?)

How cool are these buttons? Thanks, Lex! I was waiting for the perfect place to put them.

And now I think it's time to let the cat out of the bag, since I don't think I can take camouflaging photos any more:

Whoo-hoo! A tiny baby being baked as we speak! Hence all the baggy shirts being made of late...

Hi Anna,
How exciting is that new baby???!!! Cute cardi, by the way :O) Do you know which it is--boy or girl?
I've so enjoyed seeing Lara's "doings" and watching her get bigger. You three surely have a lot of fun! My daughter Molly is almost 22 now (our only) and I miss the little girl stuff. I found your blog when you were over on WR.
I'd like to send Lara a Valentine card. May I? My e-mail is robynmcmurry@verizon.net I live in the boonies of northern Wisconsin, in the northwoods.
So, if I may have your mailing address, I'll send a card off pretty soon, first of Feb. I'm making cards tonight and having LOTS of fun!
Thanks so much! :O)

Does it seem strange to you that complete strangers follow your life and doings? Even though I know this is the "new normal" in the internet age, it's a little strange to me. So I'm delurking, and along with giving you a hearty congrats, I want to thank you for your blog. I'm a new mom, and I found that the process of pregnancy and having a baby totally awaked my long-dormant creative side. I've appreciated getting ideas and inspiration from you, and next year I plan to make your cardboard kitchen for my little guy. It's perfect for us, as we live in a tiny Hong Kong apartment, and we're trying to avoid buying stuff that we'll either have to sell or ship back to the States. Thanks again,
Monte
